Program Goals
Youth ages 12 - 15 will be given the opportunity to study their community in depth, create media to present problems and solutions, and discuss their findings with community leaders and politicians.
The choice of problems, and the research on solutions, is supposed to be determined by the youths as much as possible.
Defined goals of the program include:
Cognitive:
Increased
basic literacy skills
Increased critical thinking and investigation skills
Improved media analysis skills
Psychological:
Change
in locus of control over community problems
Internalized right and responsibility to be engaged in community decision
making and problem solving
Career:
Improved technology/multimedia skills
Increased awareness of careers related to communications
Social/Community Increased CTC involvement in community à CTC becomes
hub of community activity
Increased creation of locally relevant original multimedia content
